Bengaluru: Bengaluru police arrested three persons in connection with the assault on the driver and conductor of a Kerala State Transport Corporation bus on Monday, November 28.
The arrested men are identified as Vishwanath alias Vishwa, Deepak and Harish all in their early 20s. Vishwanath supplies drinking water cans, Deepak is a flower vendor and Harish is a carpenter, informed police sources
Reportedly, the bus bearing the registration number KL-15-A-1986 was on its way from Bengaluru to Kozhikode on Saturday, November 24. When the bus reached Jnanabharathi railway station at around 5.45 am a Toyota Innova car which was behind the bus kept honking continuously to move ahead. However, as the road was very narrow the bus driver was not able to make way for the car.
Later when the road broadened he allowed the car to overtake the bus. However the car intercepted the bus and its occupants, including the driver, came out of the vehicle and assaulted the bus driver and the conductor with the jack rod.
The bus conductor Kumar sustained severe head injuries in the assault and was taken to a private hospital immediately. Meanwhile, passengers were shifted to another KSRTC bus coming from behind.
