Settle women’s, children’s complaints swiftly: Udupi DC

Udupi: The deputy commissioner of Udupi district Priyanka Mary Francis has asked all the GP’s and Women and children development department to give report in connection to the problems regarding women and children expressed during the GP meetings and the action taken in response to the registered complaints.
She was speaking at the meeting which she presided for the various coordination committees of the women and children development department.
The DC directed the assistant director of the women and children development department to settle all the complaints that were registered during the GP meeting last year by assigning a separate meeting for it. She also asked the department’s taluk executive officials to pass information to all the women Santvana Kendra in the district on the GP meeting regarding the women and children.
The staff at the Santvana Kendra must participate in the meeting and given information regarding the department and also the helpline numbers to be contacted in the event of an emergency, said the DC.

The DC informed the assistant director to organise information programme regarding teenage problems through Sneha Clinic for high school students and also conduct an awareness programme for woman and children beggars.
Provide training to the staff of the Santvana Kendra to organize pre-marriage counselling in women’s colleges regarding marriage problems, informed the DC.
108 complaints
Altogether 108 complaints have been registered at the Santvana Kendra from July 18th to Aug 18th. Workshop has been organized to provide awareness on the ban on drugs. Workshop has been conducted to spread awareness on the ban on child marriage, informed Gracy Gonsalves, Assitant Director of the Department.
