Two dead, four injured as brakes fail on BMTC bus

Bengaluru: A BMTC bus went out of control allegedly after its brakes failed and went on to hit the public killing two PUC students and injuring four others near Mysore road here on Tuesday, December 18.

The deceased identified as Chandrakanth and Yadukumar were students of Kasturba College near Mysore road.

The accident occurred when Chandrakanth and Yadukumar who were on the way to the college and were crossing the road here when the bus hit them injuring them critically. They were rushed to a hospital but they succumbed to their wounds shortly. 

It is gathered that both Chandrakanth and Yadukumar hail from a poor background and were doing parttime jobs as to support the family. Chandrakanth who hails from Kalaburgi used to work parttime in Gopal Mall after college hours while Yadukumar used to put the newspapers every morning before going to college.

The deceased body has been kept in the Victoria hospital. Meanwhile, a compensation of Rs 10 lakh has been announced for the kin of the family.
