Young girl rescued from Netravati River after she fell accidentally

Ullal: Locals were successful in rescuing a young lady who had fallen off the bridge while talking over the phone on Wednesday January 16th. Initially it was believed that she had jumped into the river.
On getting knowledge of the incident, the locals acted immediately and attempted to locate and rescue the girl. Eventually, the girl was found holding on to a wooden plank from where they rescued her.
After she was rescued, she revealed that she had accidentally fallen into the river while she was talking to her mother over her mobile. No case has been registered in this connection and the cops let go of the girl after talking to her parents.

Earlier, two persons travelling on a motorcycle from Thokkottu towards Mangaluru along Netravati Bridge had observed a lonely lady who was crying, talking into her mobile and walking along the bridge and spontaneously jumped into Netravati River on Wednesday night January 16.
The girl was identified to be of around 22 years-old in age, had a bag on her shoulder and was wearing a uniform. However, it is not clear if the uniform was that of a college or of a workplace.
