Online cricket betting racket busted, 3 arrested

Mangaluru: Three persons have been arrested by the city crime intelligence bureau for allegedly operating cricket betting racket online. The police also recovered Rs 62,700 in cash and four cell phones from the accused.
The arrested three are identified as Bhanukesh, James, and Anil. Another accused is on the run.
Apparently, the youth had rented a room near KSRTC bus stand in the city and were operating their business from there. The betting was being done through a mobile app and they also had a TV set in the room.
Getting clue of the illegal activity, the police raided the room and nabbed the accused. The operation was carried out by Assistant Commissioner of Police Sinivas Gowda, police sub-inspector Kabbalraj and other staffs.
