Mangaluru: The extradition of Ravi Pujari is getting delayed as the underworld don has claimed himself to be Antony Fernandes, a citizen of Burkina Faso and investigating agencies will now have to prove his identity.

For this purpose, Mumbai and Karnataka police personnel have been directed to obtain DNA samples of Pujari’s family members which will be matched with that of Pujari to prove his identity.

Pujari (50), was detained in Dakar on January 19 on the basis of information provided by Indian agencies. There are 97 extortion cases against Pujari in Karnataka alone. There are two cases in Mangaluru, from where he hails. He was sentenced to life imprisonment in one case.
