Cinema-goer beaten to death following argument over Rs 10 parking fee

Bengaluru: A cinema goer was beaten to death by two theatre staff following an argument over Rs 10 parking fee at Lavanya theatre in easter Bengaluru on Friday.
The victim, Bharani Dharan, 38, had arrived at the theatre to watch Tamil movie Kanchana 3. Since he was running late for the show Dharan just parked his bike and started to go inside the theatre without paying the Rs 10 parking fee when he was confronted by the parking attendant, Selvaraj.
Reportedly Dharan told him that he would pay the fee after watching the movie since he was already late and moreover, he didn’t have the required change but Selvaraj did not agree and an argument ensued between the two.
In a fit of rage, Dharan is said to hit Selvaraj in the face with the two-wheeler keys. Meanwhile Shekar, a housekeeper at the theatre, who witnessed the scene rushed to Selvaraj’s rescue and the duo allegedly dragged Dharan inside a room of the theatre and brutally assaulted him.
A person who saw the incident called the police control room. Though the Hoysala police rushed to the spot and took Bharanidharan to the
hospital, he died on the way.
Both the accused have been arrested.
