Rationing: Possibly stop in water supply for 3 days after May 15

Mangaluru: The water level at Thumbay vented dam is falling by the day and the water rationing rule in effect presently may be changed after May 15th.
If in cases, there is no rainfall by May 15th, the district administration has thought of providing water for 4 days followed by cutting the water supply for 3 days after May 15th.
Water supply started at 6 am on Thursday and will continue till 6 am of May 13th. The water level at Thumbay vented dam on Friday evening was at 4.12mt. On Thursday morning, the water level was at 4.24mt which dropped to 4.17mt by the evening. If there is no rainfall, then the water level shall fall by 4mt.
Decision after May 15th
“Since the implementation of rationing, the city is not facing a major water problem. The present rule of rationing will be carried until May 15th. Later, the situation will be considered based on which the decision will be taken to stop water supply for three days in a week,” informed Sasikanth Senthil, Deputy Commissioner of DK
