Elections should be conducted through ballot papers: DCM

Bengaluru: With most exit polls forecasting another term for Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP almost sweeping Karnataka in the Lok Sabha polls, Deputy Chief Minister Dr. G Parameshwara said that the exit polls have been designed as per the orders of BJP but in reality, it is the BJP who will lose.

Addressing pressperson on Monday at Sadashiv Nagar office the senior Congress leader said BJP by claiming that this party will get 300-400 seats in the exit polls is solacing itself. But in reality, it is the UPA government who will form the government.

“Can you believe that BJP will win 18 seats in Karnataka?” he questioned.

The JD(S) and Congress will get more seats than what is being projected in the exit polls, there is absolutely no doubt about it, he said.

Expressing dissent over the use of EVM machines he said that the elections should be conducted through ballot papers and not through EVM machines. “We requested the same to the Election Commission but it did not help. We have seen examples of EVMs being hacked and manipulated and there is no doubt about it” he said.
