Mysuru: Newly elected MP for a second term from Mysuru-Kodagu constituency Pratap Simha on Tuesday claimed he was not looking for a ministerial position in the Union government an also announced a few projects that he hoped to bring to the constituency.

Addressing presspersons at the Mysuru District Journalists’ Association, he attributed his win by 1,38,648 votes to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who was the only candidate for the entire nation like A.B. Vajpayee, as people trusted him.

When questioned about the rumors that Bengaluru South MP Tejasvi Surya could become Union minister of state for youth affairs and his own ambitions, he said he had no interest in becoming a minister just now.

“People have voted not to make me a minister or for my political growth. I am not here for the position. I only want to complete all the projects that I have brought to Mysuru. There are several senior leaders who have contributed to the party and they should get the opportunity to become minister,” he added.

He revealing the projects he wants to complete in this term informed ” A ten- lane highway between Mysuru and Bengaluru will be completed in two years. And land acquisition will be done soon for extension of the runway at the Mysuru airport. With five flights having already been approved under the Udaan phase 3 regional connectivity scheme, a flight from Mysuru to Bengaluru will be introduced on June 7, and flights to Kochi and Hyderabad too will take off shortly. I have plans to introduce a daily train to Mangaluru and direct trains to Mumbai, Managavalu and Kochuveli.”
