Car accident: Brothers killed

Kota: Two brothers who were walking along the road lost their lives after a speeding car mowed them down near Saligrama Hadimane Hotel on Thursday evening.  The deceased are identified as Chandra (52) and his brother Narayana (55), both residents of Badaholi.

Both the deceased were day wage labourers and were standing beside the road on their way to the market from their home when the driver of an over speeding Eeco car lost control of his vehicle and mowed down the duo. The force of impact was such that both the pedestrians were thrown off to some distance and the car toppled. Chandra died on the spot while Narayana breathed his last at Manipal hospital.

Chandra is survived by his wife and two daughters while Narayana is survived by his wife.

Anger against the car driver

Although there were no hindrances along the straight road, the car being driven rash and negligently attempted to overtake on the wrong side, lost control and crashed into the victims standing 30 meters away from the road. Soon after the accident, the locals expressed their anger against the car driver.

Incident capture on CCTV camera

The video of the entire incident has been captured by the CCTV cameras installed at a hotel nearby. Kota police visited the location and conducted investigation. The locals and hotel staff helped in shifting the injured to the hospital.
