MIA: DGCA concludes investigation regarding aircraft slipping away from runway

Bajpe: The team of officials deputed by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has completed its investigation into the incident wherein an Air India Express flight from Dubai overshot its taxiway after landing at Mangaluru international Airport.

The final report of the findings will be submitted by the team to the union department of civil aviation and Airports Authority of India. Based on the report necessary actions will be taken.

Meanwhile, a parallel investigation into the incident has been conducted by Air India Express as well to ascertain the cause behind the incident and the final report will be sent to the chief aviation safety officer.

The aircraft which stopped just short of grave danger after veering off the runway has been moved from its position to the new wing of the airport for testing. Only after the engineers conduct detailed inspection and certify the aircraft worthy of flight will it resume its flight operations. The entire process may take a week, inform sources.
