Subrahmanya, Kollur receives good rain

Mangaluru/Udupi: The rain which gained intensity on Wednesday in Dakshina Kannada district lost its might on Thursday while good rain was received at various locations in Udupi district.

Kukke Subrahmanya area witnessed good rain while Mulki received good rain in the morning and Kinnigoli and Haleyangadi receive the same during the evening. There was normal rain at Bantwal, Belthangady, Venoor and Puttur. Drizzling was reported from Mangaluru and Ullal.

Good rain was experienced in Udupi, Manipal, Brahmavar, Tekkatte, Koteshwar, Kollur, Vandse and Belmannu area. Two houses in Udupi taluk suffered damage while several electricity poles were uprooted leading to power outage.

Karkala market area received continuous rain since the morning but later it reduced. Many trees were uprooted in Hebri and Kabbinale area and some electricity poles were damaged.

Several houses damaged

The strong winds on Wednesday night brought down many trees which consequently damaged many houses. The houses of Ulaibettu Prasad Acharya and Hariprasad Acharya, Katipalla Abdul Hakim, Adyar’s Bhavani, Bantwal’s Bipatumma, Kepu Parameshwar Naik, Perne’s Choma, Mani Shekhar Poojary, Gopala of Uli village, Karpe’s Girija Poojary, Badagabellur Bhoja Safalya and others have suffere partial damage, informed the control room.

Kasaragod: Good rain

Badiyadka: Since the monsoon began in the district, 829.8375 mm of rain has been received. In the last 24 hours, 81.6375 mm of rain has been witnessed. Due to high intensity rains, a house was completely damaged while 50 other houses suffered partial damage. 30.5 hectares of cultivated land has been damaged. In the last 24 hours, 12 hectares of farmland has been damaged.
