Youth stranded in Kuwait: Two youth to fly back to India on July 13

Kuwait: Of the 34 youth from Mangaluru stranded in Kuwait after becoming victims of job fraud, two youths will be flying back to India on July 13th.

The victims identified as Abhishek Badage and Abubakkar Siddique have been provided with their passports and tickets in the presence of institution of Engineers member Mohandas Kamath, former chairman Illongovan and his wife, Buntara Sangha Kuwait president Guruprasad Hedge, vice president Rakshsak Shetty on July 12, Friday.

According to earlier information, four men from Mangaluru were expected to depart from Kuwait on July 13, but as per the current information, only two youths will be flying back to the motherland. Meanwhile, 23 people of the 34 stranded youth in Kuwait have received the necessary clearances to leave Kuwait and are expected to return on July 15 and 17.

The decision regarding the remaining 11 with whom the company which offered them employment has some issues, will be taken later. Eight of them identified as Imtiaz, Azeez Abdulla, Haneef Abbu, Mohammed Irfan, Ganesh Shivaram, Abdul Azeez, Mohammed Arif Bannur and Ashfaq Amir Hussain will have to stay back in Kuwait.

It may be remembered that during the last week of May, 34 men from coastal Karnataka recorded a video informing their plight and appealing to the politicians and media to rescue them. In the video, the youth explained on how over 200 people from different parts of India were cheated by an employment agency and soon the video went viral.

The job fraud victims existed in nightmarish conditions in Kuwait since May. However with the video going viral; several good Samaritans came to their rescue.
