Tora: Another corpse found

Madikeri: The corpse of Appu (60) has been recovered. The victim was claimed by a landslide that occurred at Maniparebetta of Tora village in Virajpet and the body was found on Wednesday. With this, the total number of lives lost to natural disaster has risen to 10.
The landslide occurred here on Aug 9th. It claimed2 lives and 8 persons went missing. The corpse of the two deceased identified as Mamata (40) and Likith (15) were recovered on the very day. The search for the remaining was impeded by the constant rain. On Monday, the corpse of Anusaya was found.
On Tuesday, although 6 Hitachis’ pressed into service, nothing was found. On Wednesday, Appu’s mortal remains were found.
Appu and his family were living in their house along the farm when the landslide occurred and the entire family went missing. Presently, all existence of the house and farm has been replaced by piles of mud.
Search is being conducted for other missing people including Prabhu’s mother Devaki (65), children Amrata (13) an Aditya (10) as well as the family members of Harish identified as Shankara, Leela and Veena.
