Women’s group beat up fake astrologer for brainwashing women

Bengaluru: A fake astrologer got beaten up by the members of a women’s group on Wednesday, August 21 for allegedly brainwashing women and pursuing them to fall in love with him after convincing them that he was their husband.

The astrologer is identified as Venkat Krishnacharya (28) and a resident of Srinivasnagar. He was caught by the members of a women’s group who trashed him and later handed over to the Hanumanthnagar police.

It is gathered that astrologer was brainwashing a woman at a house where he was called for a puja. Venkat, who visited their home frequently allegedly brainwashed a woman, an employee with a private firm, and persuaded her to love him after convincing her that he was her husband in her previous birth.

The astrologer had also taken a loan in her name and threatened to harm her if she told about it to anyone. On Wednesday, the parents of the woman narrated the ordeal to a women group member who went to the astrologer’s house and thrashed him before handing him over to the police.

A case in the regard has been registered with Hanumanthnagar police.
