Voters list verification started

Mangaluru: if there are any mistakes in the voter’s ID, it is the right time to get them rectified during the voters list verification programme which is being conducted presently, informed   ZP CEO Dr| Selvamani, speaking er starting off the voters list verification programme co-organized by the district administration and ZP at the ZP hall on Sunday.

During elections, voters give complaints regarding mistakes in the voters list. Hence this programme has been organsied in this backdrop. It will be conducted from Sep 1st to 15th. During this period, Booth Level Officers (BLO) will visit door to door and the public must make use of this opportunity, he informed.

District SWEEP ambassador Sharat Bhandary spoke non the occasion and said, it is not right for the voters to neglect verification on the voters list. Presently, it is being described that 65% of voting is good voting, but only 90% of voting is good voting. During the campaign of voters list verification, the BLOs must work honestly, he said.

Additional Deputy Commissioner M J Roopa presided over the programme and said, the programme is being held to provide good service to the people. This is a good opportunity for the addition, removal and correction of voters names into the voters list, he advised.

Udupi: It is possible to create a mistake free voters list only when the BLOs carry out the verification and confirmation work responsibly, informed the DC G Jagadeesh speaking after starting off the votes list verification programme organized by the district administration at the hall in municipality on Sunday. He also released the “Comprehensive list special verification – 2020” poster during the occasion.

The voters list revision is a very important issue. Officials should neglect this. Every time, eligible voters is devoid of the opportunity to vote due to mistakes in the voters list. Duty must be carried out to prevent this from happening in the future, said the DC.

Al those who reach the age of 18 in January 202 must register themselves in the voters list. Those whose names are missing from the voters list and those whose address have changed and get the same rectified. Registration will be open from Sep 1st to 2020 Jan 8th. The final revision will be conducted from 1-1-2020 to 15-1-2020, he informed.
