Putrefied remains of a home alone senior citizen found

Kapu: Corpse of an aged woman has been found in a putrefied state on Wednesday Sep 4th. the deceased is identified as Yashoda Nayak (80), resident of Muttakallu near Sadambailu in Belle village near Bantakal, Shirva.

The corpse was found lying lifeless on a cot inside her home and by the stage of putrefaction it is estimated that she would have died four to five days back.

No foul play suspected

Apparently, the elderly woman was living alone and going by the fact that the gold ornaments she was wearing were intact, it is presumed that she would have died either because of infectious diseases or age-related ailments.

A case in this connection has been registered with Shirva police and the corpse was laid to rest with help from some local people and Soori Shetty, a well-known social worker from the town.
