Chikkodi: BJP state president Nalin Kumar Kateel on Wednesday said that rumours of a rift between him and Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa was baseless and termed him as a great leader.

Accusing the media for creating a rift between them, Kateel said, ” Yediyurappa is “supreme” for the BJP. Decisions on all issues including appointment of office-bearers have been taken after due consultations with him. It is my responsibility to support him in every possible way.”

He was speaking after launching “Gandhi Sakala Yatra” at Examba village in the taluk.

Further, he asked the party workers and office-bearers to refrain from giving any statement in public except in party platform.

On the issue of flood relief for the state, Kateel said that a delegation of BJP Lok Sabha members led by Yediyurappa would submit a memorandum to the prime minister.
