Kalaburgi: Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister Govind M. Karjol on Thursday informed the 85th Kannada Sahitya Sammelana will be held in January 2020.

Addressing pressperson here he said, “The by-elections in the state will be held on December 5, therefore all the government officials will be busy with the election duty, so the state government has decided to hold 85th Karnataka Sahitya Academy in January 2020, however, the dates are yet to decided.”

He further informed, “I have already met the president of Kannada Sahitya Parishat Manu Baligar and discussed the issue with him.”

This was Karjol’s first visit to Kalaburgi district after being selected as the District Incharge-Minister.

Slamming newly elected Leader of Opposition, Siddaramaiah for campaigning for the Maharastra elections, Karjol said, “Former Chief Minister has no time to solve flood-related issues but has time to campaign for his party in Maharastra.”
