Dist police staff quarters inaugurated

Mangaluru: ‘Koti-Chennaya’, the district police staff quarters was inaugurated by Minister for Muzrai, Inland Transport and Fisheries Kota Srinivas Poojary here on Monday, December 9.
Built at cost of Rs 25 crore, the Koti-Chennaya apartment, located on Police Lane in Pandeshwara consists of two blocks with 48 flats each.
Addressing the gathering after inaugurating the staff quarters, Poojary said that the government has high concern for police personnel and assured of looking into their demands. He appreciated the efforts of the police personnel in maintaining the law and order situation in the society round-the-clock and round-the-year.
The present government has implemented the recommendations of Auradkar committee report aimed at improving the welfare of police personnel, he said.
Mangalore South MLA D Vedavyas Kamath informed that foundation stone for the concretisation of the Police Lane road will be laid soon
Superintendent of Police B M Laxmi Prasad and others were present.
