More than 34k students to appear for PU exams in DK

Mangaluru: District authorities informed on Saturday, February 22 the details of preparations made for the upcoming PU examinations starting from March 4.

Deputy Commissioner Sindhu B Rupesh said that 34,346 students are appearing for the exam in the Dakshina Kannada district. In this 17,137 are boys and 17,209 are girls.

There will be 24 exam centres in the Mangaluru taluk, four in Moodabidri, seven in Bantwal, four in Belathangady and nine in Puttur.

Udupi district additional deputy commissioner Sadashiva Prabhu separately in a meeting in the Udupi informed that all exam centres will be monitored with CCTV cameras.

15,100 students in twenty-seven exam centres will be appearing for the exam. Teams comprising of tahsildars, block education officers and other officials from the Education Department will be distributing the question papers and the vehicles carrying the papers will be fitted with GPS.

A control room will be operational until the conclusion of the exam in the deputy commissioner’s office.

The postal department will be transporting the student’s answer scripts of the examinations.
