BSY to attend banquet for Trump, postpones budget meeting

Bengaluru: Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa, who was supposed to hold a budget reading meeting with officials on Tuesday postponed the meeting as he will be attending a banquet being hosted in honour of US President Donald Trump at Rashtrapati Bhavan on Tuesday.

President Ramnath Kovind will be hosting the dinner at Rashtrapati Bhavan and has sent invitations to all chief ministers across the country.

Earlier, it was said that Yediyurappa won’t attend the dinner, later on Monday evening, it was clarified that he would go to Delhi. The CM will be returning on Wednesday, after which he will be busy with budget preparations.

Trump, accompanied by First Lady Melania Trump and a high-level delegation, arrived in Ahmedabad around noon on Monday for a little less than the 36-hour-long trip.

On Tuesday, the US President will meet Indian President Ram Nath Kovind at the Rashtrapati Bhavan, where a banquet will be hosted in his honour.
