34 cases against Ravi Poojari in various police stations in Mangaluru

Mangaluru: Extradited criminal Ravi Poojary has 34 criminal cases registered against him in various police stations across the city.

These cases include one murder case, three shoutout, kidnapping cases, 28 threat cases and a case of financing his undertrial accomplice.

Poojary was found guilty and sentenced in the 2009 Naushad Kashimji murder case, but he had not been found so far.

Cases pertaining to shootouts are registered in Kadri police station (2008), Kavuru police station (2008) and Urve police station (2014).

The highest number of cases against Poojary are for threat calls that he made to builders for extorting protection money. Cases against him are registered in Barke police station (2010, 2013, 2014, 2018), Urva police station (2013), Moodabidri police station (2013), Kavuru police station (2014), Kadri (2018, 2018,) and Konaje police station (2018).

Apart from these, a case of the kidnapping of a businessman is registered in Mulki police station (2012).

From these cases, police have prepared ‘C report’ on seventeen cases, and ‘B report’ on the case of kidnapping a businessman and other 10 cases are in different stages of trial in the courts.
