New Delhi: Senior Congress leader Digvijaya Singh on Wednesday slammed Jyotiraditya Scindia for resigning from the Congress Party.

He said that Scindia was offered the Deputy Chief Minister post of Madhya Pradesh but he refused, as he wanted his nominee to take the post. He added that Kamal Nath refused accept a ‘Chela’ as the DyCM of Madhya Pradesh.

Digvijaya Singh claimed that nobody anticipated that Jyotiraditya Scindia, a former Union Minister and a four-time Lok Sabha MP would quit the party.

He further said that Scindia could have been a Congress nominee to the Rajya Sabha but only “Modi-Shah” can give a cabinet post to the “over ambitious” leader.

The senior Congress leader claimed that Scindia was roped in by BJP after Shivraj Singh Chouhan failed to topple the Congress govt in Madhya Pradesh.

Jyotiraditya Singh submitted his resignation to Congress interim chief Sonia Gandhi on Tuesday.
