Only quarter of those surveyed staying home: Survey on COVID-19

New Delhi: COVID-19 positive cases in India have already crossed the 500-mark however according to a new survey only 27% of people in the country are apprehensive of the pandemic.
The survey conducted by IANS-CVoter-Gallup International Association Corona Tracker 1 reports that almost 73% of the people surveyed stated that they are not taking any active precautions to prevent contracting the virus.
Globally, about 45% of the people have responded that they are adopting precautionary measures and have reduced their social interactions.
Italy, with more than 6000 dead has stood first place with 93% adhering to social distancing and Austria came second with 90% staying at home.
The worst amongst the 22 countries surveyed was Turkey with only 11% locking themselves in.
