Karkala: Hailstones, heavy rains cause damage

Karkala: Thunder, lightning, hailstones and gusty winds with rains lashed Karkala taluka on Sunday, April 12.

The rain spell occured between 2:45 pm to 3:15 pm in Karkala town, Kukkunduru, Sanuru, Bajagoli, Durg, Joduraste and Jodukatte.

Almost fifteen electric poles were damage at Bailur. Many village homes were also reported to have sustained damages to their roofs.

One house on 17th Cross Road at Tellaru in the town was hit by lightning damaging many electronic items in the house.
