TJ attendee from Puttur tests Covid 19 +ve; DK dist tally rises to 13

Mangaluru: A 39-year-old man from Uppinangady tested positive for coronavirus on Friday, April 17. This is the 13th case reported in Dakshina Kannada district.

The number of active cases in the district now stands at 4 with this new case. Notably, since last twelve days the district had reported any positive Covid-19 case.

The now infected, a resident of Puttur with a travel history to Delhi had arrived in Mangaluru on March 21 via Nizammudin train.

On March 23, the district administration had placed him in quarantine, along with 26 others who had attended Tablighi Jamaat event in Delhi after identifying them through their mobile tower location history.

As many as 29 persons who came in contact with this person too have been quarantined.
