Karnataka: State bus transit entities seek govt’s financial aid to pay employees salaries

Bengaluru: Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) and Bengaluru Municipal Transport Corporation (BMTC) have requested an immediate financial aid of Rs 332 crore from the State government to pay the salaries of their employees.
Additionally, both entities have requested an exemption from the payment of the annual motor tax amounting a little more than Rs 450 crore.
Both the transport entities employ more than 1.35 lakh people combined and have been reeling under financial pressure since the lockdown began.
