Mandya: Residents of B Koodagahalli village are gripped with scare after three members of a family tested positive for coronavirus in the district on Friday, May 1.

It is gathered that the three people with travel history to Mumbai had in fact brought the mortal remains of 53-year-old man who died of heart attack there on April 24. A total of six people had accompanied the body in the ambulance and had been placed in quarantine, of which three have now tested positive.

Locals meanwhile sought to know who allowed permission to bring the mortal remains from Mumbai, a major COVID-19 hotspot in the country to Mandya. They also pointed out that a pourakarmika, who was part of the funeral was not placed under quarantine. This has created a sense of fear among the locals.
