Blood of Covid-19 survivors being sold as ‘vaccines’ on the dark web

Scammers are selling fake vaccines claiming it be made from the blood of Covid-19 survivors on the dark web

In a report released by the Australian Institute of Criminology, it is said that cybercriminals are exploiting the Covid-19  by selling hundreds of Covid-19 related products on dark web.

The ad on the dark web market, claims that the vendor has been infected by the coronavirus and has survived, in which he or she is now selling blood and saliva. Apart from that rapid Covid-19 test kits, temperature detectors are also being sold. These products are thought to be stolen from factories and outlets.

Also, drugs designed for other diseases are also being sold with false claims that they can fight the coronavirus, such as anti-malaria drugs hydroxychloroquine and chloroquine.

It is said that out of the 20 dark web sites investigated, just three accounted for around 90 per cent of the coronavirus products for sale.​
