TikTok announced a new enhanced feature to allow In-App reporting of any misinformation related to Covid-19. Users can also report fake information pertaining to other topics.
A Task force has been set up as a proactive measure to strengthen the capabilities of the app in addressing misinformation around Covid-19.
TikTok said, “We have partnered with Vishvas News, the fact-checking arm of the Jagran group, which is IFCN certified,”
Once a user reports any Covid-19 misinformation, it is sent to a ‘priority moderation queue’ operated by an internal taskforce comprising members from various teams across the company and then will be sent to third-party fact-checkers.
Here’s how you can report fake news on TikTok
1.Open the post that you want to report.
2.Tap on Share option
3.Now tap on Report option.
4.Tap on Misleading Information option.
5.Select Other Misinformation option and fill in the description
6.Tap on Submit
