Chikkaballapur: Man kills wife over salty non-veg curry, arrested

Chikkaballapur: The Chelur police have arrested a man for allegedly murdering his wife over a petty issue in Hoshahudaya (Uppakunte) village of Bagepalli Taluk in the district.

The deceased is identified as Madhura (24), wife of Balachandra Cheloor (28) who is working as a private bus driver. The couple has an 11-month-old baby.

As per sources, Balachandra who is an alcohol addict had picked up a fight with his wife saying that non-veg curry she prepared was too salty. The family member did not interfere as this was a common scene at home most of the time.

It is gathered that Balachandra pulled his wife inside his room and strangled her to death and tried it to showcase it like suicide.

After receiving the news the Chelur police arrived at the scene and arrested Balachandra.

A case has been registered under Section 323 (assault), 342 (Punishment for wrongful confinement), and 302 (murder) at Chelur police station against Balachandra.
