Udupi: In a meeting with MESCOM officials at his city office on May 16, MLA Raghupati Bhat discussed the issues with electricity bills between March 23 and May 1.
Officials explained to him that bills for the month of May were generated computing the average of the bills from December 2019 and January and February 2020.
Adding that an interest of 1 per cent was charged for bills not paid within the due date.
Bhat advised the officials to adjust amounts in the succeeding bill if the consumer’s electricity consumption is less than the average computed.
