Karnataka: After two-month break KSRTC, BMTC buses to hit roads on May 19

Bengaluru: The Karnataka government is set to start operation of KSRTC and BMTC buses from Tuesday, May 19 after a two-month break, informed Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa on Monday, May 18.

The decision was taken by BS Yediyurappa after holding a meeting with cabinet ministers and high-ranking officials.

“KSRTC, BMTC, and private buses will be allowed to operate within the state from 7 am to 7 pm More than 30 people will not be allowed to board the bus and wear a mask are compulsory for everyone. As of now, we have not decided to hike the bus far. Expect for malls, theatre, and hotels all the other shops can be opened,” informed Yediyurappa.

Yediyurappa said strict lockdown measures will be applicable in the containment zones and economic activities will be permitted in other areas that don’t fall in such category.

CM Yediyurappa also announced cabs and auto-rickshaws running within the state will be allowed to operate. However Only driver + 2 passengers will be in autos and cabs.

Saloons can also pull up their shutters. Parks have been allowed to open from 7 am to 9 am and from 5 pm to 7 pm, Yediyurappa said.

Except shopping malls and cinema halls, all shops can open, he added.

The chief minister said night curfew would continue from 7 pm to 7 am and there would be a complete lockdown on Sundays.
