Ramanath Rai apprise DC of illegal sand extraction in Bantwal, demands action against culprits

Mangaluru: Senior Congress leader and former district in-charge minister B Ramanath Rai on Tuesday, May 26 met Dakshina Kannada deputy commissioner Sindhu Rupesh and apprised her of the illegal sand extraction activity in Bantwal taluk.
Rai claimed that despite several complaints, officials from mining and geology, revenue and police department have failed to taken any action against the culprits owing to their association with the the MLA of the constituency.
Pointing out at the revenue loss to the government due to rampant and illegal sand extraction in Bantwal taluk, and specifically in areas like Kadeshwalya, Karpe and Maninalkoor areas, Rai asked the DC to ensure impartial and strict action against the culprits
