Karnataka: DK, Udupi account for 53 of 115 Covid 19 cases reported today

Mangaluru/Udupi: Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts accounted for as many as 53 out of the 115 new Covid 19 cases reported in Karnataka on Thursday, May 28.
Fourty new Covid 19 cases mostly Maharashtra returnees were reported from noon to evening today taking the total tally of infected persons to 2533 in the state.
With 47 deaths and 834 discharges, there are 1,650 active corona cases in the state, the department said in its media bulletin.
In Dakshina Kannada, a total of 24 cases were reported today while Udupi accounted for 29 cases.
Barring one person from Kerala, the others who tested positive for COVID-19 in Dakshina Kannada today are returnees from Maharashtra. DK has so far has 105 confirmed cases of COVID-19 including seven deaths.
Out of 29 positive cases in Udupi, 26 are Maharashtra returnees and two are Telangana returnees while one had returned from Kerala. With this, the number of cases in Udupi has reached 149, including one death.
