Bengaluru: Former Prime Minister Deve Gowda is likely to file his nomination for the biennial elections to the Rajya Sabha on Tuesday, June 9.
Deve Gowda’s decision came after AICC chief Sonia Gandhi reportedly spoke to him on Sunday evening, welcoming his decision to file his papers.
Polls to four Rajya Sabha seats will be held on June 19 and the last day for filing nominations is Tuesday. In case the BJP decides to field only two candidates, then the elections will be unanimous. The four Rajya Sabha members retiring on June 25, include JD(S) member Kupendra Reddy.
