Puttur, Kadaba: 53 dengue cases reported

Puttur: Amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, an epidemic of dengue fever has been reported in the first week of June in Puttur and Kadaba taluks.
Between June 1 and 7, the number of cases under Kadaba’s primary health centre limits was 1 and 2 in Kondala. In Puttur taluka’s Uppinangadi – 8, Koltige – 1, Panaje – 31, Sarve – 3, Shiradi – 1, Tingaladi – 3 were reported.
A total of 258 cases of dengue fever have been confirmed in dual taluks between January 1 and June 7. In May, 130 cases were reported.
ASHA workers and health department workers are visiting houses in the talukas to raise awareness.
Officials at the Nandalika primary health centre have asked people to undertake more precautions during the monsoon season.
