Covid 19: DK, Udupi report 285 and 134 new cases respectively

Mangaluru/Udupi: The tally of positive coronavirus cases in Dakshina Kannada rose to 3,596 with further 285 persons testing positive for the virus on Sunday, June 19. Neighbouring Udupi district too recorded 134 new cases taking tally of confirmed cases in the district to 2,222.

Out of the total positive cases, in Dakshina Kannada 1,491 patients have been discharged after recovery while 2028 cases are active and are being treated at designated hospitals. Meanwhile two more deaths – a 77-year-old female and a 53-year-old male – were reported today.

Out of total 28,874 samples sent for testing and 25,188 are found to be negative, the district health bulletin stated.
