Bengaluru: The Bengaluru City police have urged netizens to assist them in the fight to put a full stop to human trafficking.
The request comes on the occasion of World Day against trafficking in persons. Notably, this years’ theme too focuses on first responders to human trafficking
“We take on the monster of human trafficking every day. Yet to be able to mortally wound it, we need to fight harder and stronger together! Come, join forces with us, this World Day Against Trafficking in Persons. Dial Namma 100 to report trafficking crimes. #SaveDontEnslave,” tweeted official account of the Bengaluru city police.
“Let’s stay safe, build a safe future for those around us, and remain resolved in our pursuit to end human trafficking! Sandalwood joins BCP to #EndHumanTrafficking. Will you?,” another tweet read along with a video of actors Adhvithi Shetty and Ashvithi Shetty.
The world day against trafficking in persons is observed on July 30 every year in order to raise awareness about the condition of victims of human trafficking and to promote and protect their rights.
It was the first time in 2013 when the United Nations General Assembly designated 30 July as the World Day against Trafficking in Persons.
