Udupi: Many teachers of government schools in the district are teaching students with no mobile phones and TVs at their homes some have brought the blackboards to the school grounds and are conducting classes.

The State government had decided to start teleclasses amidst the COVID-19 crisis and has already started teaching through the DD Chandana television channel for students in classes 8, 9 and 10.

The public education department is now also preparing to start teaching through television for students in classes 1 to 7. Additionally, teachers will also be conducting classes at the houses of students.

Presently, there are a total of 1,224 government, aided and unaided schools in the district.

The District’s Deputy Director of Public Instruction has stated that information about children with TV, mobiles and Internet is being collected. Those students without any of these facilities will be taught by teachers at their homes by gathering them at one spot.

Meanwhile, a few videos and photos of teachers who have already started teaching in the school’s grounds have brought appreciation by parents from across the State.
