Udupi: Min Bommai loses footwear to sea while on visit to district

Udupi: Home Minister and Minister In-charge of the district Basavaraj Bommai, had come to check the soil erosion and other problems faced by the district. At the beach in Padubidri, where he had gone for a visit, the waves swept away his footwear.

The incident was shot on camera and the video is going viral on the Internet.

Before the incident, Bommai spoke to reporters here and stated that he has already discussed the problems of landslides and soil erosion caused by the rains every year with the Prime Minister in a video conference.

He added that a permanent solution for the problems will be soon found and announced that for repair and relief works Rs 10 crore will be released to the district in the next few days form the National Disaster Relief Fund.
