Bengaluru: Deputy Chief Minister Of Higher Education Dr. C.N. Ashwath Narayan said on Tuesday, August 25 that the academic year of the degree colleges will be starting from September 1 and the direct (offline) classes will start from October onwards.

“We are yet to receive guidelines from the Central Government on conducting direct classes in colleges. Some degree examination will be held in September. All the colleges will start classes online from September 1 onwards and the students had to attend classes,” the DCM said.

The state government has already made all preparations as per UGC guidelines for starting classes. Ashwath Narayan said that they will decide on direct classes once they receive confirmation from the Centre.

Final Year examination:

The Government has already decided to conduct examination for all the graduate, diploma and engineering students in the final year along with the commencement of the academic year. The exam will also be conducted for the students who have a backlog.

No hurdles in NEET exam:

The government has successfully conducted the CET exam for over 1.94 lakh students in the state. Especially 63 COVID positive students have also passed the test with confidence and have secured a good rank.

“I don’t know why some people don’t want to conduct the NEET exams. I would like to suggest that no one should play with the future of the children. There is a conspiracy behind it and some vested interests have been trying to interfere with the NEET examination from the beginning. There is a huge network behind it. The state government will cooperate to conduct the examination smoothly and we are ready for the exam,” he said.
