Bengaluru: Filmmaker-journalist Indrajit Lankesh has made some sensational claims on the drug scandal in sandalwood.
Reportedly, he questioned the cause of the recent death of a young actor in Sandalwood. He claimed that some powerful people or politicians pressurized the doctors from conducting an autopsy to establish the cause of death. He even compared the incident with Sushant Singh Rajput’s case and questioned why this was covered up.
His comments did not go down well with family members of the Sarja family as many media reports claimed that he was referring to the death of Chiranjeevi Sarja. They claimed that people are trying to tag his name to this serious issue which is not right.
In response to this, Indrajeet said that he did not imply anything directly to Chiranjeevi and that he only states that the way in which the death happened should have been investigated better.
Also, Lankesh said that he is willing to co-operate and “share information with the police in the larger interest of upholding the name and sanctity of the Kannada film industry. “
