Sujrewala replaces KC Venugopal as K’taka Congress in-charge

Bengaluru: Congress spokesperson Randeep Surjewala, 52, has been appointed as in-charge of Karnataka Congress replacing K C Venugopal on Friday.
In a major reshuffle, the party high command appointed general secretaries and in-charge of AlI India Congress Committee (AICC) with immediate effect on Friday.
Accordingly, Sujrewala has been appointed in-charge of Karnataka Congress affairs while Venugopal will continue as the organizing secretary of the AICC.
Among other appointments, Karnataka leaders H K Patil and Dinesh Gundu Rao got important responsibilities. Patil has been named as party in-charge of Maharashtra while Dinesh Gundu Rao was named as in-charge of Tamil Nadu, Goa and Puducherry.
Krishna Byregowda has been accommodated in the AICC election unit led by Madhusudan Mistry.
Senior leader Mallikarjun Kharge, who has been dropped from the post of AICC general seceretary, will continue as a member of the Congress Working Committee, the party’s highest decision making body.
