Uppunda: The dead body of a local youth has been found in the Sumanavathi stream here on the morning of Tuesday, September 15.

The deceased has been identified as Shivaraju (28), a resident of Rahutan Katte, Yedtere.

The deceased is lived with mother and grandmother.

The body was found in the Sumanavati stream about half a kilometre from his home. Locals guess that he might have slipped and fell into the stream and drowned two days ago.

It was reported that Shivaraju was unmarried and sometimes would not return home for a couple of days after leaving. This is why the family did not search for him even after two days.

Police officials from the Byndoor police station arrived at the scene and took stock of the incident.
