Surathkal: A bus conductor here showed great humanitarianism when he spent an entire day to save the life of a passenger in his bus.

Ganesh, the bus conductor in a bus of ‘Shan’ bus operator, was on duty on November 16 on the bus plying through Bajpe Kaikamba.

Rajesh Chauhan (40), a resident of Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh, was travelling in the same bus and fell severely ill when the bus was passing near Katipalla in Suratkal.

Ganesh immediately handed over the ticket collection work to bus driver Ramesh and took Chauhan to a private hospital in Surathkal.

However, as Chauhan’s health deteriorated, doctors advised Ganesh to take him to Mangaluru.

Chauhan was immediately rushed to the Wenlock in an ambulance but he died without responding to treatment.

Ganesh then lodged a complaint with the Surathkal police station where the Circle Inspector and other station officials congratulated Ganesh for his selfless service in attempting to save the life of a migrant worker.
