Mangaluru: In a statement, the city’s Commissioner of Police Vikash Kumar said that the Indrajit murder case has been solved.

He added that the motive behind the murder was to avenge an old killing.

Nine people were arrested by the police for killing Indrajit (29) on the intervening night of November 25 and 26 near Karnal Garden at Kudroli.

The statement explains that one of the nine arrested Jagadish (53) alias Talvar Jagga’s son was killed by the ‘Mankistand gang’ six years ago. Indrajit was reportedly part of the gang. Jagadish conspired to avenge his son’s murder by killing Indrajit.

“The accused persons will be produced before the court and we will seek police custody for further investigation,” the statement read.
