As per reports, Apple AirPods Pro ‘Lite’ could be launched in early 2021.
The lite version will have the same factors as the AirPods Pro but will not have the voice cancellation feature. Therefore it will be available at a far more affordable price tag, the report stated.
The report in The Elec, a Korean daily, said that supplier sources claimed Apple initially planned to launch the lite version soon after the AirPods Pro’s launch in October but decided against it as the latter received a great response from the customers globally.
The Apple AirPods Pro, launched in late 2019 is priced at Rs 24,900 in India. The Lite version may be priced just a bit higher than the regular Airpods, but lower than the Airpods Pro.
The report further states that a local supplier has been contracted to develop a system-in-package for the new earphones based on Apple’s H1 chip.
The lite version could be a simplified version of the chip present in the AirPods Pro and AirPods Max.
The lite version is expected to cost 20% less than the standard Airpods which could mean that it could be priced at around Rs 12,000.
